The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred tonight (March 30, 2023) in the 3400 block of Franklin Avenue that left one person dead.
At about 11:58 p.m., NOPD Third District officers responded to a reported shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male subject unresponsive inside a vehicle who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was declared deceased on the scene.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. Therefore, no additional details are currently available.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
